Walk The Golden Path
A meditation on authenticity, connection, and tuning into your intuition
This illustration is about the journey inward - the golden path we walk to return to our most authentic selves. It’s colourful. It’s expansive. And it’s guided. I believe this path is protected. I believe your soul chose this life—the people, the patterns, the lessons, the timing. Everything you’re experiencing is a part of your journey home to yourself.
There was a moment in my life when I woke up and thought, “There has to be more than this.” More than the daily routine. More than chasing the weekend. More than the 9-5 rhythm of survival.
That moment cracked something open in me. It sparked a new path - my own path. And that path led me inward. Here’s a quote I read recently that so beautifully captures what I’m trying to describe in my illustration:
GRACE: Touched by love
“It is possible to speak with our heart directly. Most ancient cultures know this.
We can actually converse with our heart as if it were a good friend.
In modern life, we have become so busy with our daily affairs and thoughts
that we have lost this essential art of taking time to converse with our heart.”
— Jack Kornfield

I don’t share this process often. But if you’re here, reading this right now, maybe you’re meant to. Maybe you’re feeling disconnected or lost. Maybe you’re trying to tune in, to reconnect, to find your way. If so, this is for you - the fact that you’re here? That’s not random.
When I feel disconnected…
I take a step back. I get quiet. I turn off the noise and distractions, and I let myself drop into a meditative state. Then I begin with a simple prayer or intention:
“Thank you, Universe, for all that you’ve given me.
Thank you for the lessons, the strength, and the hardships I’ve overcome.
Spirit guides and angels, I feel you with me, thank you for protecting me.
Higher self, I call on you to guide me toward my next steps.
I surrender. Use me for the greater good, whatever that means for me.
What am I here to do? What should I do next?”
Then I sit. I wait. Thoughts come and go. Sometimes I feel immediate peace. Other times, it takes longer. But eventually, the messages and downloads come.
“Messages? Downloads?” What does that even mean? LOL, I know how that sounds. You’re not a computer. But “messages” or “downloads” are how I describe the intuitive messages that come through. It’s like your higher self is delivering guidance directly to you.
How do you know it’s real?
Well, think about that gut feeling you get when you just know something—like when you walk into a space and feel like you shouldn’t be there. That deep, visceral knowing. That’s your intuition. Now imagine that same feeling, but instead of fear or urgency, it brings clarity. Ideas. Guidance. A sense of purpose. That’s what tuning into the universe can feel like.
This is your connection to something bigger call it the Universe, Spirit or God - whatever you believe in, this connection lives in you and through it, we’re connected to each other.
Be patient with yourself.
This kind of connection takes time. It took me a while to even get into a meditative state. It took me even longer to trust what my intuition was telling me. I resisted it, honestly - for years.
I fought the nudges, the patterns, the inner knowing - because listening meant changing. It meant confronting things I didn’t want to look at. But now I’m in a season of surrender and that surrender is what brought this piece into the world. (yes, this is woo-woo and yes it’s totally me. Yes, people have given me that ~look~ when I talk about this but yolo that’s why I created my blog!!)
Try it out yourself! Get playful. Use your imagination. Visualize yourself inside this artwork. You’re standing in a vibrant landscape, golden path beneath your feet, walking toward the sun. Take a deep breath. Feel into the energy. Ask: What does my soul want me to know right now? Be open to who you might meet along the way. Stay curious.
The lesson behind the image
When I looked back on my life, I saw certain patterns repeating. One big one? Overdependence. As a kid, I was shy. I didn’t know how to do things on my own. I was scared to speak up, scared to order food, scared to go places alone. I always needed someone beside me. And that pattern? It followed me into adulthood. I didn’t know who I was without others around me.
It wasn’t until I started walking this golden path inward—through self-connection, meditation, and inner work - that I began meeting myself for the first time.
This piece is about that moment. The moment you start turning inward, listening to your heart, and walking your own golden path - one step at a time.
You’re not lost.
You’re just being asked to listen.
I’m so excited for you to meet yourself in a new light :)
