The Light Of The Universe Lives Inside Of You

“THE LIGHT OF THE UNIVERSE LIVES INSIDE OF YOU” Digital Illustration, 2025.

I am so fascinated by the human experience. How do we hold such deep complexity? Why are we here? What are we meant to remember?

These questions have guided me for as long as I can remember.

In the illustration, a golden figure is lovingly suspending a human in space before the moon, surrounded by the vastness of the cosmos. To me, this represents all of us: luminous beings held within something much greater, yet often forgetting that we’re part of it. We are it.

This piece is a love letter to the universe and to the miracle of being alive in a human body.

I grew up in an immigrant household with no religious structure. Faith, God, and spirituality weren’t really part of our daily language. I went a lot of my life just thinking that this was all that life was - day in, day out, routines, structure and purpose was something I couldn’t understand. As a kid, I was always curious, especially about the things I couldn’t see. I remember wondering what else was “out there,” beyond what we were taught to believe or value.

In university, I took a few courses on theology and philosophy, trying to understand the frameworks people use to make meaning of their lives. But honestly? None of it really landed. The theories felt distant and too complex.

It wasn’t until adulthood through art, meditation, enduring hardship, nature, and stillness that I started building my own connection to something bigger. Something wordless and ancient. Something soft and knowing.

This illustration captures that feeling and in my own way, I’m trying to understand something unseen.

It’s about the quiet realization that divinity isn’t something you have to find "out there."

It lives inside of you. It always has.

Call it Spirit.
Call it Universe.
Call it God.
Call it Light.

Whatever your language is for the divine, I believe it’s not something external we need to chase, it’s something we remember. It’s something we return to.

I can’t claim to have all the answers. I’m still exploring. Still learning.
But what I know:

You are not separate from the universe.
You are the universe.
And the light you’re looking for has always been inside of you.

Let this piece be a reminder. That in your moments of doubt, of disconnection, of feeling lost:
you are still held.
you are still sacred.
you are still light.
